Department Overview:

  • 46-bed Medical-Surgical and Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) with modern equipment and a wide variety of patients daily.
  • Fast-paced environment where nurses work across various specialties, including orthopedics, plastics, and intermediate care.
  • The IMC team supports critical care by stabilizing patients for ambulance or helicopter transport.
  • Nurse-patient ratios: 5:1 in Med-Surg and 3:1 in IMC.
  • Well-staffed with strong support from management, supervisors, and a team of nurse educators & coordinators on every shift.
  • Comprehensive orientation program with evidence-based online courses, interactive lectures, and high-fidelity simulations.

What can you expect?

The Nurse Residency program runs in tandem with your RN position here at Baystate Wing Hospital with the Medical-Surgical, Telemetry team. This inpatient acute care unit is the largest unit in the hospital and has the capability to care for a broad spectrum of patient acuity.

You will be hired as a Registered Nurse, offered a competitive nursing rate and after orientation, will assume responsibility for the patient's plan of care.

QUALIFICATIONS

MA Registered Nurse License

American Heart Association BLS CPR (can be obtained after offer)
